Om, Tom Yum, Gang Jurd - Thai Soups

Tum Yum & soups are a vital part of the Isan Thai diet - traditionally spicy, and popular with those wishing to eat healthy - the tastes range from hot and sour (Tom Yum), to the subtle light and fragrant flavour of Gang Jurd Tawhoo Gai Sab (chicken soup), which is traditionally given to people feeling under the weather in the Isan Region of Thailand.

'Om' - which is an Isan staple and contains fermented fish sauce (Pla Ra) can be eaten as a clear curry with rice or even as a soup.

Om is available at Cafe Isan on certain occasions and it’s always worth asking!
